  • Emergency Management,VDOT & AEP

Emergency Management continues to communicate with our partners during the storm to ensure we are proactive with all communication.   VDOT Communication:  We plan to bring VDOT and contractor crews in during the day tomorrow and be in full 24-hour operation until the storm ends and we have opened up all roads. Our top priorities during the storm are the primary routes, especially while the storm is still in progress.  As we get into the cleanup after the storm has passed and primary roads are clear, our next priority is to get schools opened, so we concentrate on bus routes and any problem areas the county might have.  If citizens call regarding specific roads, the best tool for them will be to contact our Customer Service Center at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623). During severe weather events, we utilize a weather protocol to facilitate reporting to our area headquarters. Roadway conditions can be found in our 511 app which we update as conditions change as well. Appalachian Power Communications: Staying Connected •  Sign up for Outage Alerts for updates on outages and estimated restoration times (ETRs). •   Download APCo’s free mobile app to easily report an outage or hazard. •   Visit AppalachianPower.com/OutageMap for outage locations and ETRs. •   Follow Appalachian Power on Facebook , X and Instagram for restoration updates.
