Public Notice: Fraudulent Calls Claiming to Be Treasurer’s Office

Floyd County has received reports of individuals calling residents and falsely claiming to be from the Treasurer’s Office. In these calls, the individual states they will come to the resident’s home to collect tax payments.

Please be advised:

• The Floyd County Treasurer’s Office does NOT collect payments in person at private residences.

• County staff will not call to arrange in-home payment collection.

If you receive a call of this nature:

• Do not provide personal or financial information

• Do not agree to any in-person payment collection

• Report the call to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number (540) 745-9334

All official tax payments should be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office during business hours, by mail, or through approved payment methods.
