  • Winter Storm This Weekend

    The Floyd County Emergency Management Department is diligently monitoring the storm activity. Currently all Fire Rescue Stations and EMS stations are supplied with water and MRE’s.  As the storm progresses, we will monitor the areas of impact in the County and respond accordingly.  Communication will continue through county website, www.floydcova.gov  ,  County Administration Facebook page and Everbridge.  If you have not signed up for Everbridge, Floyd County Citizen Alert,  the link is as follows, https://member.everbridge.net/892807736722954/login .

  • Winter Storm Prep

    A significant snowstorm is expected in our area beginning early Saturday, 01/24/2026 . Now is the time to prepare.   The Floyd County Emergency Management Team  has been in close correspondence with the National Weather Service  and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management .   • Holiday Hours

    The Floyd County Transfer Station will be open from 8:00-11:30 am.

  • Community Advisory-Wind Advisory Issued

    The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in effect through midnight tomorrow (01/10/2026). Due to the rainfall experienced this weekend, followed by expected high winds, ground conditions will be soft. As a result, downed trees, limbs, and power lines are possible. Public safety officials have been notified, and fire departments have been briefed. No action is required at this time, but residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware and use caution, especially while traveling.
