Change in dates Of the Board of Supervisors Meeting for the month of March Floyd County Board of Supervisors will change the scheduled March meetings as followed: The regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors Meeting held on the 2nd Tuesday of March 8, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. In addition, the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors Meeting held on the 4th Tuesday of March 22nd, 2022, at 7:00 pm., has been rescheduled to March 29th, 2022, at 7:00p., in the Board Room of the Floyd County Administration Building. The Board will hold a Retreat 9:00 am March 4th, 2022, at 9:00 am at the New River Valley Regional Commission Offices in Fairlawn, Va.
- 4PM Burning Law - Effective February 15 to April 30
Effective February 15th and through April 30th, there is a 4 PM burning law in effect within Floyd County per the Virginia Department of Forestry. The burning law in brief is as follows: No burning until after 4:00 p.m. if the fire is within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or field containing dry grass or other inflammable material. Fire must be attended at all times if the fire is within 150 feet of woodland or other dry fuel leading to woodland. No fuel may be added to fire started after midnight. Law applies to campfires, warming fires, brush piles, household trash, stumps, fields of dry grass and brush, or anything capable of spreading fire. DMV Connect will be visiting Floyd's Jessie Peterman Memorial Library on March 23rd and 24th from 10am-4pm. You can utilize DMV Connect for many of the same purposes that you would visit the DMV for, such as: REAL ID, Driver's Licenses, Vehicle Titles, Vehicle Registrations, and more! Friday December 31, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. Board Room of the Floyd County Administration Building 120 West Oxford Street Floyd, VA 24901 Floyd County Board of Supervisors calls for a special meeting of the Floyd County Board of Supervisors on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. in the Board Room of the Floyd County Administration Building. The only orders of business at this meeting will be a discussion of Solid Waste and closed session, §2.2-3711 A.1 – Discussion, consideration, or interviews of prospective candidates for employment; assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining, or resignation of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of any public body; and evaluation of performance of departments or schools of public institutions of higher education where such evaluation will necessarily involve discussion of the performance of specific individuals.

Box 218 Floyd, VA 24091 Phone: 540-745-9359 Fax: 540-745-9305 The intent and purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to establish a contract for telephone and voicemail services for Floyd County Government. We seek an experienced firm to provide services to all Floyd County Government buildings including the County Administration Building, the Extension and Recreation Building, the County Courthouse, the Library, and the forthcoming Parks and Recreation Building. The bid request is for the entire system, including telephones, voicemail, support, and maintenance. Offerors should possess and use their extensive knowledge and experience within the communications industry to recommend a creative solution that will meet or exceed Floyd County’s requirements. Preference will be given to the vendor that provides a comprehensive, cost-effective solution for current specifications, future capacity requirements, and ongoing service and support. Ease of operations, management and support of the new phone system will be a critical factor in selecting a vendor. Individual vendors may submit more than one option to allow the county more flexibility. Award shall be made to the responsible offeror whose proposal is determined to be the most advantageous, “Best Value” to Floyd County, and taking into consideration the evaluation factors set forth in the Request for Proposals. The award of a contract shall be at the sole discretion of Floyd County Government, with an award anticipated within 45 days of receipt of proposals. The award shall be based on the evaluation of all information as Floyd County may request. Floyd County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive any informality in the proposal if determined to be in the best interests of the County.
