Bear Activity Notice – Green Boxes Conner Grove Road (Willis Area)

Floyd County residents using the green box site at 3629 Conner Grove Road (old Dehart Store) are advised that there has been recent bear activity in the area.

To help reduce this issue and improve safety, trash truck drivers have installed bear-resistant boxes at this location.

When using the site:

• Please unlatch the door to place your trash inside

• Make sure the door is fully closed and securely latched after use

• Please do NOT place trash on top of green boxes

Keeping the boxes properly closed is critical to preventing bears from accessing trash and returning to the area.

If the boxes are not consistently latched and bear activity continues, the County will have no other option but to remove the green boxes from this location.
